Aims
The Princes Trust Achieve department aims to introduce Youth Work methodology to mainstream Access and Nurture classes via the Achieve qualification.
Achieve focusses on the personal development of the young people and contain careers components, which help to improve their employability.
The tasks and activities chosen are intended to improve the pupil’s personal and social development, so as to encourage them to co-operate and communicate with others, while enhancing their self- esteem and confidence.
Learning skills of a more general nature, such as the wider Key Skills, and the development of interpersonal and study skills can be promoted through the group work and team activities incorporated into the activities which are run in the department.

This qualification is run by the Prince’s Trust and is equivalent to 4 X Level 2 qualifications, 4 x GCSE Equivalent
The qualification is 100% portfolio based and has no exam component.

The Prince’s Trust Award, Certificate and Diploma in Personal Development and Employability Skills (PDE) recognises a breadth of personal skills, qualities and attitudes required by employers across a range of sectors.
The qualification aims to develop their own personal growth and engagement in, and through, learning.
Engage pupils in learning that is relevant to them and support their development of personal skills and attributes that are essential for working life and employment.
The qualification intends to develop the skills necessary for progression into further education programmes, apprenticeships or other work based learning
Achieve is intended to develop pupil’s English and mathematics skills.
Careers
The Prince’s Trust qualifications in Personal Development and Employability Skills recognise a breadth of personal skills, qualities and attitudes required by employers across a range of sectors. They have been developed with the aim of progressing learners into further education and/or employment. The qualification is intended as suitable for developing the skills required in all types of employment.
