Clarke Carlisle speaks candidly to pupils about Mental Health issues

Yesterday three pupils were selected to represent our school at a talk about Mental Health by ex-Premier League footballer Clarke Carlisle. Clarke talked openly at the Girwood Community Hub to secondary school pupils from all over Belfast as part of an initiative to raise awareness of mental health issues in sport. Jamie Bunting, Mark Green and Curtis O’Boyle thoroughly enjoyed the talk that candidly described Clark’s ongoing battle with depression and how anyone experiencing mental health problems can receive support. Hosted by Business in the Community the afternoon also included pop-up stands providing information from local mental health support charities like Lighthouse.
