We are delighted to congratulate Mrs Black, our Vice principal, on winning a Special Award at the Danske Bank Blackboard Awards at Belfast City Hall on Friday 1st February. Mrs Black received an 'Investment in Youth' Award for her work in providing high quality enterprise educational experiences to the pupils in Belfast Boys' Model School. She has worked very hard to ensure the boys develop entrepreneurial skills to maximise their success in future life. She lead the development of the Shared Education delivery of the Company Programme with Mercy College, allowing students to collaborate across the two schools, ensuring they leave formal education prepared for future success.

Mrs Black has served the school community since 1989 as a teacher of Geography, Head of Careers and now as Vice Principal. In her various roles, Mrs Black has worked tirelessly to promote a whole school approach to Careers education, information, advice and guidance, collaborating with others to create the present CEIAG Framework for NI. In 2006, she was awarded the Bombardier Aerospace Education Award for services to business/Education partnerships. She has served the school selflessly for almost 30 years and we are proud to recognise and celebrate this tremendous achievement.
