Since March 2019 pupils from Years 12 & 13 have competed for positions in the new Mental Health Ambassadors Team. Candidates had to answer a number of questions as part of an application form, this was followed by a tough interview process judged by mental health specialists, current Mental Health Ambassadors, SPLT and Mrs McCracken. After the panel concluded, Mrs Montgomery approved the choices and a few days later the candidates were notified about their appointment.
Our ground breaking ‘Mental Health Ambassadors’ Team, are a group of Senior pupils who are dedicated to the promotion of positive mental health with their peers. They work closely with outside links and our Year teams to ensure that all pupils have access to support, if required. Many of our current Ambassadors are preparing to leave BBMS for the world of work and further education. Everyone at Belfast Boys’ Model School would like to thank them for their work and wish them luck for the future.
The “team transition process” has been in planning since January and we look forward to sharing more details about the new team in September during “Launch Week”.
