'Good Diabetes Care in School Award'

At Belfast Boys' Model School, we are incredibly proud to have recently received the 'Good Diabetes Care in School Award'. This national award recognises the schools that are making sure children and young people with Type 1 diabetes get the most out of their time at school. It also endorses the high level of care and support given to such pupils. Mrs McCracken, Vice-Principal, commented 'BBMS staff are absolutely delighted to receive this award, particularly as we were nominated by the parents of a Year 10 pupil, Lewis Mercer. My thanks go to all of our wonderful teaching and support staff involved in caring for pupils with Type 1 diabetes, who work tirelessly to ensure that medical conditions do not hinder the progress of any BBMS pupil.'
